There are currently nearly 28,000 people receiving community messaging within the Thames Valley Police area. This free email service sends members information about local crime activity. Help prevent burglaries

• Keep doors and windows locked at all times

• Remove all keys from the locks and keep them in a safe place and out of view

• Keep garden furniture, ladders, and wheelie bins in a secure garage or shed

• If small fan light windows are left open in warmer weather, a window restrictor can be fitted to prevent an offender reaching inside

• Install a house alarm

• If you are going away ask someone to keep an eye on your property and remove any tell tale signs that you are away
